Music is the inspiration behind all my art. This painting, called Stable Witnesses, is about the feelings I have while listening to Christmas carols when my thoughts center around the birth of Jesus. Several of these carols influenced me as I painted this artwork. The lyrics sink deep into my heart. The music moves my spirit. The art flows into my eyes, my arms, and my hands as I paint. It was a wonderful experience to enjoy the process of creating this painting. ‘Stable’ refers less to the setting of Christ’s birth and more to the type of witnesses we can choose to be. We can choose to be stable, strong, and sure witnesses of the birth of Christ. It seems that knowledge as a sure witness comes in different ways. It can come from the heart and the mind. In this way, we can all choose to be stable witnesses of the birth of Jesus Christ. This painting is a texture-rich creation.
